Self-hypnosis for stress relief
When you are used to rushing aroud it can be really hard to switch off and change pace. This is where hypnotherapy, Herts, can help you ensure you experience a specific period of regular ring-fenced time out. In this article, I will provide tips for self-hypnosis, a valuable relaxation tool.
Kick that habit once and for all
n this article I am going to list ten ways in which hypnotherapy can be an effective means for empowering people to stop smoking in a natural way. If you are considering hypnotherapy to stop smoking or weighing up the pros and cons of other methods, then this article may provide you with more information to help you choose the method that has the best chance of working for you. I am a hypnotherapist, in Hertfordshire and regularly provide smoking cessation session at my hypnotherapy practice, Hertfordshire to help people kick the habit once and for all.
Cognitive therapy and NLP approaches to combat depressive and anxious thinking
Every belief you have is a generalisation or simplified way of viewing the world. Generalisations by their very nature are distortions. Often when I see clients for therapy it is possible to find a distorted belief behind the problem. For example ‘I am worthless’ is a belief, which promotes depression.
Hypnotherapy for Changing Habits
Hypnotherapists utilise hypnosis to help people solve personal problems. Hypnosis is a state of mind, typified by deep relaxation, a narrowed focus and heightened sensory awareness. This state of mind occurs naturally and people slide in and out of this state, known as ‘trance’, all the time, in everyday life. ypnotherapy is based on the philosophy, that trance states can be helpful and utilised to bring about positive change. This is because, when a person is deeply relaxed, as they are during trance, access to the unconscious mind is enabled. Hypnotherapists believe that learning, behaviour and change, occur at an unconscious level.
Quit Smoking Hypnosis
At quit smoking sessions, Hertfordshire, people are helped to stop smoking in one session. This is possible because all your smoking issues are dealt with in this session. Support is offered for 6 months following your session, which means that you can return for top up sessions, if required. This is not usually necessary.
Matsering Anxiety by Mastering Your Thinking
If you are an anxiety sufferer, I am sure that you will have read plenty of literature, on and off the internet about what anxiety is, what causes anxiety, what anxiety symptoms are and also information about the current anxiety treatments available. Therefore, this article will not spend time talking about these issues.
Treatment for Generalised Anxiety Disorder
One of the most common reasons that clients seek treatment at my NLP and CBT practice Hertfordshire is for anxiety and panic related problems, such as generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks and agoraphobia. Often, panic attacks are associated with other conditions such as generalised anxiety, phobia or depression. In this case, the appropriate course of action is to address these underlying issues first – the panic attacks usually subside, as these other issues are resolved. During NLP and CBT Herts, I work with people experiencing anxiety, panic attacks and agoraphobia, usually over an 8 week period, seeing them once a week. This is flexible, and more or less sessions are carried out depending on the unique need of the individual.
Magic Pills Do Not Exist - Even In NLP!
However, as an occupational therapist, and having worked in mainstream NHS mental-healthcare, I also believe that NLP at times sends out a misleading vibe, which cannot be said of some of the more traditional therapies. By this I mean that NLP can give the impression of being this magical therapy that will cure people in minutes, when years of psychotherapy, counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy etc. has had little or no effect.
Stop Smoking with Hypnotherapy
As an ex smoker, I can completely relate to the challenges involved in giving up smoking and to the feelings of guilt, frustration and embarrassment of being a smoker, when you would really rather not be. Fortunately, if you haven’t yet found the support you need to stop smoking forever, hypnotherapy can be an effective solution. In this article you can discover 5 of the ways in which Hypnotherapy Herts can help you stop smoking with ease and quickly.
PANIC ATTACKS AND PANIC DISORDER
A panic attack is a sudden feeling of extreme anxiety accompanied by significant physical symptoms such as trembling, sweating and shortness of breath. They are usually accompanied by an overwhelming fear of catastrophe – the person may feel they are dying or suffering a heart attack, or they may fear they are going mad. They can occur in response to specific situations (such as crowded areas) or spontaneously and with no obvious cause. They are usually short-lived (lasting a few minutes) but are so unpleasant that a person may live in fear of it happening again – in many cases, this will lead to the person avoiding situations that they think will trigger an attack (“avoidance behaviour”).
Stress Management – A technique
A non-drug method of achieving relaxation, which is widely advocated by healthcare professionals, is relaxation training. The aim of relaxation training is for the individuals to be able to achieve both a relaxed body, with muscles free from tension and also peaceful thoughts, so that the mind too is relaxed.
Relaxation training can work as a preventative measure (to protect the body from stress related damage), as a coping strategy (to be employed in times of stress and thus reduce the effect of stress) and as a treatment for stress related illnesses such as high blood pressure, tension headaches, Irritable Bowel syndrome and much more.
Common Myths About Hypnosis
As an Occupational Therapist, therapist who often uses hypnotic techniques, at my NLP and Hypnotherapy practice, Herts for therapeutic benefits, I am aware that many people have inaccurate beliefs about hypnosis. For example, a friend asked me if I could work with her husband to make him give up smoking and pick up his socks! Two activities which he had no intention of stopping! In fact hypnotherapists cannot make people do anything they do not want to do and this will be explained along w
WHO’S WHO IN THE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE
When a person is experiencing psychological or emotional difficulties, they may well attend their GP. The GP will interview them and based on the nature and severity of the persons symptoms may either recommend treatment himself or refer the person on to a specialist. There can seem a bewildering array of such specialists, all with rather similar titles, and one can wonder as to why they’ve been referred to one specialist rather than another. In this article I give an outline of the qualifications, roles and typical working styles of these specialists. This may be of interest to anyone who is about to, or already seeing, these specialists.
Emotional Freedom with Change Personal History
Often when individuals come to see me, for NLP in Herts, it is the memory of past events that are causing them a problem in the present. Specifically, it is the way the person re-experiences the past event during the process of remembering that accounts for distress in the present.
Believe You Can Change
In any therapeutic intervention that is designed to achieve change, it is important to have an understanding of the beliefs and values held by the person wishing to change. NLP therapists are able to work with clients to eradicate limiting beliefs.
