Home | Business | Network Marketing 1. Entrepreneurial spirit – this is the desire to work for one’s self, to gain control of your life by taking some risk to strike out on your own. By giving up some of the control at one point in your life, you may achieve the freedom you are searching for later in life. If you are comfortable only with the security of your job and benefit package, and don’t want to risk doing something without getting paid, stay with your job. On the other hand, don’t ignore the facts around companies closing due to economic conditions or employees being down-sized as the work is being sent elsewhere. Most individuals in network marketing start their business while continuing to perform their current job. 2. Willingness to change – most any book you read about starting a new business opportunity recommends you develop a close alliance with someone who has experience in the field you are considering. This individual can offer advice of one who “has been there" and can help you avoid making some of the mistakes they or others have made in the past. In order to benefit, one must be willing to accept and follow the advice and coaching of others. With this information, habits over time can be changed. One can learn to move beyond their initial “comfort zone” and do things that others simply are not willing to do. 3. Ability to overcome fears – as an individual, we are born with only 2 fears – the fear of loud noises and the fear of falling. All other fears are learned as we move through our life. When asked “what is an individual’s biggest fear” – the answer of public speaking comes out on top. Self-doubt, as an example, is learned from making mistakes to the extent that we begin to believe we are unable to make any decision or perform certain actions correctly. Focusing on the fact we learn from our mistakes in order to not repeat them, will help overcome this fear. One may be shy or reserve in their dealings with people. Developing the courage to approach people and engage them in conversation in conversation will reduce this fear. Some people may possess a fear of rejection and feel they would never be able to ask someone to purchase a product or service. Consider the situation from this perspective – what is the most that can happen besides someone saying “no”? And if they say “no”, they are merely passing on the opportunity for your product or service; they are not rejecting you as an individual. 4. Leadership skills – to have people follow you, you must be willing to set the example and earn the trust of others. A true leader is one who can get others to follow him without any type of reporting structure (boss to employee) in place. Because people know you can get them to where they want to go, they will follow you. 5. Patience – most businesses are not an overnight success. Being able to continue to focus on the goal will allow an individual to move forward. Identify small goals in your networking marketing business, accomplish one, and then move on to another. Each goal you meet will move yourself closer to your overall objective. 6. Perseverance – here is the ability to stay the course, to “keep-on, keeping-on”. Many challenges lie in the path of success, rising above them and to keep moving forward will get an individual closer to their goals. This is where the steady pace of the tortoise allowed him to pass the finish line ahead of the rapid starting and stopping hare. 7. Self-motivation – this is the drive that gets you up from the comfortable couch at the end of the day to take the actions appropriate for a growing network marketing business. As a result of doing things most other people will not do, you will achieve a level of success most people do not achieve in their life. 8. Accountability – an individual must be accountable to themselves to take the necessary actions to achieve success. Many network marketing companies have identified a series of steps for an individual to complete on a daily basis to obtain the accomplishment of reaching certain levels in the business. For your mentor and your team members to know you are serious in your home based business, accountability to others is important. Don’t make the mistake of looking at this list and saying “I don’t have all those skills, so I can’t consider a network marketing opportunity”. A network marketing company can offer the benefit of teaching business and leadership skills through the training programs and mentorship available. Network marketing companies have a common factor; it is the desire for all involved to become successful. This includes helping each of us to improve our personal skills and traits to gain success in our network marketing business. Neil Article Source: http://www.articlewheel.com
