Toddler Train Birthday Party - A Great Kids party Idea

By: Cheryl Pierce

All young boys and girls love trains. Whether it's Thomas the Train or The Little Engine that Could, children are excited by trains. A toddler train party is not only easy to plan, It's fun too! There are plenty of party favors and decorations in the marketplace so you'll have no problem finding everything you need. The kids will have a blast.

There are all kinds of train themed invitations. Party supply shops will carry invitations to fit specific themes. You can even find old fashioned steam engine decorations for children with great imaginations. You don't really have to look hard for decorations and a little will go along way. You can make some great goody bags that fit the theme though. And if you really want to have fun, get a train pinata. Of course, having the little ones dress up like train engineers is fun too. If you have a DVD of a favorite train story it will quiet the young ones down though before they sit down to eat cake and ice cream.

Speaking of cake, there are plenty of cake forms and cake themes that are ideal for train cakes and children's birthday parties. From the popular character cakes that are related to trains to other train themes such as The Polar Express there are plenty from which to choose when it comes to the perfect birthday cake for your train themed party. A little cake with a little ice cream and it will soon be time to take a whack at the train themed piata mentioned earlier. Most party supply stores should have an abundance of train themed party supplies. From hats to plates, cups, and napkins there should be plenty of wonderful party supplies to help you convey the train theme of the party with little additional efforts unless, of course, streamers and other party supplies are needed. Your little ones are very special after all and as parents we all want to do our very best to insure that each party is a special memory fit for a lifetime.

Speaking of Goody bags, a trained theme party can use all types of fillers. You can use coloring books, puzzles, train whistles (the parents will hate you), story books and stickers. It's always fun for guests to have something to take home to remember the party.

If you want to do something really different, see if there's a local train museum or depot that can host your party. This makes a very special day and gives the kids a unique set of memories. Some cities have trains that take short day trips. If you'd like to do an actual train ride party, you might want to go with "The Great Escape" theme. Of course this theme will work for older children too. Just keep in mind that you're doing all this again next year and this party is going to be hard to beat.
