Social Anxiety - One of the most familiar forms of panic attack

Panic attacks are very common for individuals suffering from social anxiety. Unfortunately, few people know information about these two terms and often make confusions, mainly considering that they are synonyms.

A panic attack is not only related to social anxiety cases. There are huge number of different situations that can trigger a panic attack, while social anxiety happens when one encounters a social situation and perhaps an evaluation by other people.

One can experience social anxiety in multitude of ways. To simplify this, people are very different from each other and we all have different reactions to speaking in public, interviews and all kinds of performances that are done where there are lots of people at present.

Of course, the most usual one stands in anxiety attacks and person can have several different psychologically related reactions, usually blushing or sweating. One can also experience cognitive components, such as looking for signs of criticism and/or behavioral symptoms like missing the entire situation altogether. There certainly a multitude of problems caused by social anxiety when one has to take part in social interaction.

Panic attacks can be characterized as unexpected physical symptoms that are combined with thoughts of calamity (heart attack, not being able to breathe and so on). The first panic attack felt by an individual usually happens in one certain situation and can trigger social anxiety.

After the first case, following panic attacks become unpredictable because there is always a fear that the individual can get embarrassed again, as it happened in the first case. If the given panic attack is linked with social anxiety, the symptoms usually exhibited are: increased heart rate, shortness of breath, confusion, dizziness and incapacity to concentrate on anything.

Commonly as these things happen every once in a while, the person who is suffering from them gets more and more worried that they will happen again. This makes the problem worse and at the worst case, the individual starts avoiding social contats altogether. However, luckily social anxiety problems with panic attacks can be treated these days. There are lots of experts that can help and that can show the person great ways to treat the problem.

The first step that needs to be done is becoming aware of the condition and asking for help. This rarely happens and the majority of people suffering from social anxiety driven panic attacks will say nothing about it and will try to avoid similar situations like the one that triggered the event.

It is crucial to ask for help from a specialist who can help you to overcome your social anxiety and help you to get your social life back on track. There are numerous cases where persons who has had a difficult social anxiety have become highly professional public speakers.
