Marriage Can Be Stressful

By: Andrew John

Some of people after a few years of marriage notice that tension between them and their spouses rises. To their surprise they find that stress is a common thing even in relationships between two people who love each other. Still, there are ways to get rid of such stress or at least reduce it. All you need is to change a few things in the relationship between you and your spouse and stress won't have a chance to destroy your marriage. The most important is to change the way you communicate with each other, how you treat your second half and start working on increasing your mutual trust.

Among many possible sources of stress in a marriage lay these related with problems with communication. Of course, so called "quiet days" or quarrels can be very stressful to us, but we cannot forget that even one word too much said at an inappropriate moment can be a trigger of stress. The most dangerous situation occurs when we don't realize that our words can hurt our spouse. This is why we should always be careful what and when we are saying, even when it is only a joke or poking fun.

Another source of stress in a marriage is our behavior. It is normal that after a few years together we love each other in different way than it was during our honeymoon. Still, we can put these feeling back and repair our relationships if we only want to do it. It may be anything - a dinner with candles or a long walk in the evening. By doing so we can break the routine in our marriage and thus lower the level of stress it can cause.

When we want to live in happy family we must trust each other. It is not only the matter of adultery or financial matters. Lack of trust causes that we feel alone and can't count on each other so the stress can strike us much easier. When we worry where is our spouse or with whom he or she spends the evening, we are more and more stressed and the possibility that we will start to accuse our partner or quarrel with him is getting higher. This is why we must not only love each other, but also learn to trust our spouses. It is not an easy lesson, but very important one.

Still, we must realize that stress in our marriage can appear every time and for every reason. Such situations like a birth of a child, health problems or lack of money are typical triggers for a stress, but there are many more problems which we must face after wedding. The most important thing is to solve problems in a cooperation with your spouse. Doing everything alone or leaving your second half with problems is unacceptable. Such behavior can only cause the pressure to rise and create following problems related to lack of trust and different point of view for some things.
