Kids Party Supplies - A Birthday? No Problem!

By: Barney Garcia

If you have a child who has a birthday coming up, chances are they are extremely excited about it. Now what kind of parent would you be if you let your kid's birthday come and go without any fun activities, food and friends? Well now that I've put that awful idea into your head, I will also give you a great idea for a party theme and all of the party supplies you will need. Don't worry, because this is easy, stress free and your kid will have a blast!

Hawaiian theme party

Make your home into a tropical paradise. This is a popular party theme because it's fun for both boys and girls, its easy and it can be fun for all age groups (yes that means you too mom). Now, I realize that most people don't want to spend a fortune on their kids birthday decorations, and if you did want to do that, you would hardly need me. So below there is a list of ideas for Hawaiian decorating ideas that cost little or no money

Palm trees - you can use large boxes such as refrigerator boxes, or large pieces of thick paper. Cut them into palm tree shapes and paint them with poster paint. If this sounds like a lot of work, don't worry, because kids love doing stuff like this, and you can pawn most of the work off on them!

Other scenery- For the ocean view and sandy beaches, you can also use large pieces of paper. This is even easier than the palm trees because there is no cutting involved. After you've painted your scene, just tape it onto your walls.

Tables - to make your home seem even more like your in Hawaii, take a large sheet of green or brown paper and cover your tables with it. Fray the edges to make it look like a straw table.

Setting the mood - now, I'm sure all you parents out there know all about setting the mood, and how important it is; well it's important for kids too! Play some Beach Boys or Hawaiian themed music in the background.

Too spice things up a bit, see if you can find toy crabs, toy surf boards, toy fish and placing them around the house. You can also buy fake leis at most dollar stores for very cheap. Place them around the house and then let each kid take one home at the end of the day.

Now that I've given you a list of idea's for planning a Hawaiian theme party, you should be all set to making your kids birthday plans. As for activities, try simple games like Hula dancing competitions, Limbo dancing, Hot Coconut (hot potato), bobbing for seashells, and party crafts such as making flowers out of paper and gluing them to pipe cleaner, sand vases (buy cheap vases at the dollar store along with cheap colored sand. Let the kids fill the vases with the sand in layers of different colors). You can also let the kids make their own tropical smoothies in different flavors, and its always fun to have a Piñata if someone is willing to make one before hand. At the end of the day, don't forget to give out treat bags filled with candy, a bottle of tropical juice, drink umbrellas, and leis.
