For one it is the most accurate calendar ever developed by man. It is so accurate that it foretells planetary, lunar, and solar events thousands of years before they happen. It is predicting something for us in 2012. The 12 21 2012 date is the end of the Mayan Calendar which happens to be the end of the long cycle in the Mayan Calendar. The long cycle is made up of much shorter cycles which have been accurate to the day in predicting cycles in the Solar System. Given this accuracy and the 12 21 2012 date we must take note in events that are happening now and those predicted to happen within the 2012 time frame. Since the long cycle is ending on December 21 2012 it has caught the attention of both laymen and scholars alike. Some are saying we need to be worried given the accuracy of the Mayan Calendar's predictions. Others say we shouldn't worry as that the next long cycle begins on December 22 2012. Should we be concerned with 2012? What if there was something that we knew was going to happen no matter what? What if there was something so powerful coming that it could cause major disruptions on earth? Is there anything that supports the 2012 date? We can't argue with either. Let's assume that there are lots of facts and data supporting that a major planetary event will happen in the years 2011 or 2012? Would that get your attention?
