A Millionaire Salesman produced by Self Htpnosis

By: Donald Yerke

As I was living from week to week, never in my wildest dreams did I believe I could become a millionaire salesman. By chance, I was introduced to hypnosis and then self hypnosis and all my goals were shattered.

At the end of my real estate career, I sold a house to a professional hypnotist from England. He invited me to 3 free sessions. After the sessions he taught me how the subconscious mind overrides the conscious mind. No wonder why my new career in insurance didn't take off until hypnosis started kicking in.

On my lengthy last visit with him, he showed me now I could apply self-hypnosis on myself. In addition this professional hypnotist made me a tape 15 minutes long, in my own voice, instructing my subconscious mind on what I goals I wanted to achieve.

For the process to become increasingly effective, I found a quiet spot and played this tape five days a week. At the end of my tape playback session, I felt like a cloud was put over other activities. I was supercharged and invigorated to get started. When you are in state of deep relaxation, it subdues you conscious mind, allowing positive thoughts that you want, to break through in the subconscious. By destroyed all the sales butterfly jitters and doubts, I replacing them with a jumbo shot of of confidence and anxiety to start on my goals.

Positive conscious suggestions were pushed out, overcome by the strong subliminal messages I was guiding my mind to provide. The subconscious mind rules our thoughts, actions, and reaction. In fact the subconscious mind automatically responds to almost everything we do. Using self hypnosis, the process is keep sub (below the radar level-secret) from your thinking

I first used my self hypnosis 35 years ago. In my 1st insurance office, almost 35 years ago, writing $3,000 of premiums in a month was consistently done by only one agent. I set in my subconscious mind to sell as much insurance as him or more. By the 20th of the month my initial goal had been exceeded .by the last of the month, it was my name heading the sales leader board. I learned that if I set a realistic sales goal, and applied self hypnosis it was almost assured.

The subconscious mind rules our thoughts, actions, and reaction. In fact the subconscious mind automatically responds to almost everything we do. Using self-hypnosis, the process is keep sub (below the radar level-secret) from your thinking. To stay effective with self-hypnosis, I have kept this practice going over 35 years. First I became much bolder on following up on my leads. One week later I used self-hypnosis to boost selling to a new level. Suddenly I was running near a 70% closing average.

Why set appointments? Thats for cowards. Just knock on the door and give a brief, simple, and rewarding presentation. Plus by catching prospects by surprise, you don;t allow their subconscious mind to fill up with negative salesman feelings. I also programmed myself to act casual, using a "well, maybe you can't afford it" approach if I had a closing objection. I knew most prospects have their conscious minds ready to be told they can certainly afford it. Using the opposite effect would alter their conscious thinking process.

My goals increased. To be a top insurance salesman I would have to become a millionaire. That doesn't mean 20 years of earning $50,000. A sales millionaire meant achieving personal assets in excess of $1,000,000. Having a million dollars net, meant paying off all existing loans and bills, plus the heavy income tax imposed on my earnings.

Self hypnosis allows you to virtually shoot for the moon. Therefore starting on Monday morning and being done before evening, I wanted to use maximum subconscious power to test what I could achieve. I started out by being well self-hypnotized. I took with me about 50 prospect cards, only of them "leads". That was back in the old days, 30 long years ago. Without appointments I saw 25 prospects and made 31 straight sales of all sizes. Not a single strikeout. With over $20,000 premium and much of it in annual cash payments, I decided to stop. In a period of just 96 hours, my week's goal were exceed in 4 days,.$13,000 in commissions.

I proved to myself I could become a sales millionaire in a few years, not over a career. My methods broke all traditional rules. While my average policy size was not gigantic, my closing ratio stayed incredible. I did not wear a suit or tie or carry a briefcase. My cars were snazzy new Camaros, and I quit losing opportunities by trying to make appointments.

Be careful with self-hypnosis, if you learn this simple practice. By programming yourself to achieve goals, that will likely then achieve, there is one danger. Since you are bound to achieve it, before applying self-hypnosis, ask yourself if it is good for your mind and body to do whatever it takes.

How else did I use self-hypnosis to earn my first million dollars (after taxes) even quicker? I programmed in my self session this reminder: A secret to being successful in any sales position, look at what your competitors and associates are doing. Then devise your plan taking a complete opposite approach.
