The FXX is essentially an evolution of the radically designed Enzo that debuted in the early part of the decade. A ride built for racing and touring, the Enzo was a hit for drivers and car enthusiasts around the world. The main difference other than the physical characteristics is that where the Enzo is for street use, the FXX is only going to be found on tracks and circuits. It features a 6.2L V12 capable of 790hp at 8500rpm. The mid engine beauty purrs with a 6 speed semi-automatic transmission and flies along the track with a race-tuned double wishbone suspension. The cars are armed with a driving analysis computer analagous to the black boxes found in airplanes. The purpose is to help engineers maximize performance and make design changes in future street-going models. It features rear wheel drive with a traction control system and upgraded Brembo brakes from those found on the Enzo. The body is constructed largely of carbon fiber on an alloy based tub. If you were thinking of purchasing it, Ferrari can’t help you. They pre-sold 31 of these beauties to a select client list rumored to include the recently retired F1 champion Michael Schumacher. The cars are stored at Ferrari's headquarters and will be shipped for model specific races at tracks around the world.
