5 Tips For Finding Affordable Life Insurance

By: Guitarjoe

Does affordable life insurance really exist? Possibly. Let me ask you this, "are you single or married?" Do you have any kids? How old will you be on your next birthday? What line of work are you in? Do you have hobbies that would be considered risky or even dangerous to most people? These could be anything along the lines of scuba diving, skydiving, pilot, mountain climbing, race car driving, ect?

Here are 5 tips that could assist you in your search for affordable life insurance.

#1. Stay away from risky hobbies. Think about this for a moment. Would you sell yourself a life insurance policy? You see, life insurance companies base the cost of your insurance policies on a few different sets of criteria. This is determined by the average annual deaths in your age bracket.

Most people do NOT engage in high risk behaviors. This means that you may be excluded from buying life insurance or have to pay an extremely high premium, because of your dangerous activities. Exclusions could be placed on your policy, which means that you would not be covered if your death was caused by an "excluded" activity.

#2. Take good care of your body. This means to eat right, get plenty of rest and exercise. Keep your stress down by living a decent balance between work and play. You may not think that bad living habits show, but it is a proven fact that they do. This means sex with one partner, stay in shape and stop smoking. Quitting smoking will save you a ton of money over time.

#3. Think about buying Term Life instead. Term life insurance is substantially less expensive than Whole Life or Endowment policies. You could buy a Term policy for a ten or twenty year time frame, in order to get you to retirement age. Guaranteed Renewable Term is an option for you too, if your health is good. "Guaranteed" Renewable means that once you buy it, you've got it for as long as you want it, as long as you maintain the premium payments.

#4. Don't take the first thing that you find. Speak to several companies before making a decision.

Sit down after speaking to three or four companies and determine which policy is right for you. Don't be afraid to ask questions either. Also, you should have a thirty day "free look" at your policy after you receive it. Go through it with a fine tooth and comb and make certain that everything that you discussed with the agent is included in the policy.|Check it out thoroughly.|Read your policy carefully and make certain that you understand it.} Look to see if the policy has been "Modified" or if anything has been "Excluded".

Do it right now because once you're gone, you're gone and your beneficiary is left with the consequences. Make certain that they are secure by taking the time to read the policy front to back and get on the phone with the insurance company and insist that they explain it to you thoroughly.

#5. Make a list of all your financial needs for now and the future years. This way you know how much coverage you really need. Everything goes on this list, food, house payment, clothing, pet care, ect,.

I hope that these tips have given you some ideas that will get you on the right path to finding affordable life insurance. Good luck!
